Detective Emmet Fields (Luke Evans, War of the Gods) is called to the brutal murder of two women. While investigating, he discovers that the crime is all too similar to a fictional murder that was detailed in a short story by author Edgar Allan Poe (John Cusack, In the Skin of John Malkovich).
So he summons this social outcast for questioning, but while Poe is in custody, another gruesome death occurs - again inspired by one of his stories. So Fields calls on Poe to help him stop this bloody madness...
