Harry Potter returns to Hogwarts to enter his fifth year at the School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. There, however, he discovers that most members of the wizarding community believe his recent encounter with Lord Voldemort to be a mere fabrication, fundamentally undermining Harry's credibility.
Even worse, the Minister of Magic, Cornelius Popletal, has once again appointed a new Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher. However, in the lessons of the suspicious Professor Umbridge, the young wizards learn nothing of substance and therefore lack the knowledge to fight the dark forces that are closing in around them.
At Hermione and Ron's urging, Harry decides to take matters into his own hands. He secretly starts meeting with a small group of students, proudly calling themselves Dumbledore's Army, and teaches them how to defend themselves against black magic. Although only a student himself, he prepares the brave young wizards for the dangerous battle that is about to break out...
