Forty years ago, Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis) was one of the few to survive the rampage of masked killer Michael Myers. But the attack, which took place on Halloween night, left deep scars on her soul. Ever since the night a deranged young man stabbed her friends to death, only to take her own life, she has consistently prepared for his return.
She lives in seclusion, in a house full of elaborate traps, is desperately at odds with her daughter (Judy Greer), who thinks she's crazy because of this obsession, and is also finding it very difficult to find her way around her teenage granddaughter. All this despite the fact that Myers is living out his days in one of the highest-security mental hospitals and the possibility of his escape is only theoretical.
