Description:

The year is 1962, Baltimore, USA. Overweight high schooler Tracy Turnblad (Nikki Blonsky) loves to dance despite her noticeable size and dreams of becoming a star on Corny Collins' (James Marsden) TV dance show. While her father Wilbur (Christopher Walken) supports her on the path to fulfilling her dream, Tracy faces many obstacles beyond her physical proportions: initial resistance from her similarly sized mother Edna (John Travolta) and the hatred of TV producer Velma (Michelle Pfeiffer) and her favored daughter. Tracy even begins to fight against the racial segregation prevailing in society...
