French Connection II - Blu-ray

The police in Marseille receive a tip about narcotics hidden in a shipment of fish and begin searching the entire cargo. Meanwhile, Detective Doyle arrives from New York to capture the drug trafficker Charnier, who previously escaped him in the United States. He is to work with Commissioner Henry Barthélémy, but the two do not get along from the start. Soon, one of Doyle’s men is killed, and it becomes clear that Doyle himself is being used as bait for Charnier. The trafficker spots Doyle during an operation, and that very evening Doyle is ambushed and kidnapped. His captors—Charnier’s men—hold him in an old hotel for three weeks, constantly injecting him with drugs while the police search for him. Eventually, Charnier has him dumped, heavily drugged, in front of a police station. Doctors manage to save his life, but Doyle must recover from drug addiction. Barthélémy takes care of him. When Doyle finally recovers, he realizes he was merely bait all along...
