He's out of work and signs up for the army. Then he falls in love with the beautiful Paula. Zack Mayo arrives at Officer Candidate School with aspirations of becoming a naval pilot. The instructors warn the recruits not to get involved with the local girls who want to become officers' wives at any cost. Despite these warnings, Zack falls in love with one of them. During 13 weeks of special training, he learns discipline, love and friendship.
