The cynical miser Ebenezer Scrooge sees only money, despises people and hates Christmas. On Christmas Eve, he kicks out the carolers with their collection for the poor and his nephew Fred, who has come to wish him well. That night, however, the ghost of a former, equally miserly companion tells him that he will be visited by the ghost of Christmas past, the ghost of Christmas present, and the ghost of Christmas future. Thanks to them, the old man has a glimpse of his happy childhood, the emptiness of his present life and his lonely end. He also gets a glimpse into the lives of Fred's family and the family of the poor yet loyal employee Bob. Through this, he will understand the true spirit of Christmas and be given a chance to make amends.
