Description:

Count Dracula's residence in Transylvania is hardly ever discovered. In the 15th century, there was Prince Vlad, who became known as a skilful diplomat, a brave warrior against the pagans and an extremely cruel man with a penchant for impaling his opponents on stakes. His character is said to have inspired the late last century writer Bram Stoker to write the now classic vampire novel Dracula.
Here, he is the personification of evil against which a group of courageous people, led by Professor Van Helsing, take a stand. Director Coppola decided to be the first to film Stoker's novel in its entirety. Count Dracula is essentially a loving man who tragically loses the love of his life and in his grief curses God for his cruelty.
After centuries of restless wandering, he arrives in England to seek a reflection of his old love. By reincarnating as a wolf, a bat or a mist, he finds other candidates for vampire life. The final battle for the soul of the beautiful Mina takes place in the Transylvanian mountains, where Dracula and his chosen one seek refuge...
