This supercontinent, which existed in the Paleozoic and Mesozoic eras, split into smaller continents similar to those of today around that time. The authors explain this division by saying that it was all the fault of a greedy squirrel who was always collecting his nuts...
Scrat's wacky quest to find the cursed acorn he's been searching for since the dawn of time has world-changing consequences - the breaking of a continent. This brings Manny, Diego and Sid their greatest adventure yet. In the aftermath of these upheavals, Sid meets his grumpy grandmother, and the whole gang stumbles across a pirate ship on their travels with a strange crew that has no intention of helping them return home.
