Mischievous five-year-old mischief-maker Dennis Mitchell (Mason Gamble) tries to make life miserable for his indulgent neighbor George Wilson (Walter Matthau), even though he doesn't really mean it. But now that school is out for the summer, he has plenty of time to direct his overbearing energy at his beloved retiree, who just wants to be left alone to tend his garden. In the meantime, the town gets a visit from a crazy thief. Dennis no doubt just wants to help him. Who could hold a grudge against this small, innocent, cute little monster?
