The fact that the Croods are a bit retarded is undoubtedly Daddy Grug's fault. He was a stickler for the motto "All's well that's best in the cave", which hindered their personal development. When they finally overcame their fear and Grug's resistance, the Croods discovered that the world can be a wonderful place to live if you're lucky enough to stumble upon a fertile and safe patch of land. After many trampled miles and many pleasant and unpleasant experiences, the Croods found such a place. It had only one drawback. There was another family living there - the Lepchiks. Their surname suggested that they were on a slightly different level of civilization than the visibly backward Croods. The resourceful Fila Lepšík, the head of the family, provided his family with comforts the Croods never dreamed of. As a result, too, his family is kind and friendly, and fully prepared to welcome the Croods into their tree house, where, in addition to its many conveniences, they have the prehistoric precursor to the television. We know from history that when different advanced civilizations run into each other, things inevitably start to sour. And the Croods and the Lepchiks are creaking, and you can hear it a mile away. The creaking reaches beyond the high wall the Lepchiks have built to protect themselves from the danger that lurks there. But no wall is built to be insurmountable, and so it's quite possible that the brute strength of the untouched Croods will still come in very handy...
