In a well-established machine of relationships, oriented towards legal and illegal money-making, the story of the three people involved unfolds over a period of ten years: Sam "Ace" Rothstein (Robert De Niro) is a former gambler, brought to Las Vegas by a mafia gang to run a large casino, which he helps to make a mini-success.
Rothstein's personal security is provided by his best friend, the brutal gangster Nicky Santoro (Joe Pesci).
