- Description
In a well-established machine of relationships, oriented towards legal and illegal money-making, the story of the three people involved unfolds over a period of ten years: Sam "Ace" Rothstein (Robert De Niro) is a former gambler, brought to Las Vegas by a mafia gang to run a large casino, which he helps to make a mini-success.
Rothstein's personal security is provided by his best friend, the brutal gangster Nicky Santoro (Joe Pesci). A fateful twist in Sam's life comes in the form of professional con artist Ginger McKenna, with whom Rothstein falls in love and in whom he has immense trust. For Scorsese, the city, surrounded on all sides by desert, is a space of particular appeal, a place where different rules apply and where organised crime can reach its ultimate perfection...
