Gotham City is terrorized by a criminal band of circus performers led by the physically deformed Oswald Cobblepot, nicknamed Penguin. Selina Kyle, secretary to powerful businessman Max Shreck, uncovers her boss's fraudulent scheme to extract funds from the city and is thrown off a skyscraper as punishment. She survives and becomes Catwoman, a lonely and highly resourceful criminal element. Shreck makes a deal with the ambitious Penguin to make him mayor so that he can rob Gotham City more easily. But by then Batman has arrived on the scene and begins to fulfill his role as protector of the downtrodden and upholder of law and justice. While his opponents are extremely skilled this time, it's no use to them. And the growing emotional bond between Batman and Catwoman will make these adversaries allies, and maybe even something more...
