💡 Production & Cast Highlights

• Horror Icon Bill Skarsgård: Bill Skarsgård's presence alone (famous for playing Pennywise the Clown in IT) was intentionally used by the director to make audiences expect the absolute worst right from the opening scene.
• Filmed in Bulgaria: Although the story takes place in Detroit’s Brightmoor neighborhood, most of the exterior street scenes and the entire subterranean labyrinth were built on soundstages in Bulgaria.
• Breakthrough Debut: Director Zach Cregger was previously known primarily as a comedy writer. He wrote the screenplay for Barbarian after reading a book about recognizing warning signs in human behavior.
