A group of charming British pensioners go on a holiday to a retirement home, the Marigold Hotel, located in faraway India.
From the advertisements, everyone assumes the place to be a high-end, newly renovated mansion in the middle of exotic India. However, you don't always get what you expect from the brochures, so even the Marigold Hotel won't be as appealing as it first appeared and everyone will have to discover its charms in their own way.
