The Amazing Spider-Man is the story of Peter Parker (Garfield), a high school student not very popular among his peers, who was abandoned by his parents as a child and raised by his Uncle Ben (Sheen) and Aunt May (Field). Like most teenagers, Peter is trying to figure out who he is and why he has become the person he is.
At the same time, he has his hands full with his first high school crush, Gwen Stacy (Stone), and together they navigate the pitfalls of love, commitment and secrets. When Peter discovers a mysterious briefcase that belonged to his father, he embarks on a search for the reasons behind his parents' disappearance - which leads him directly to Oscorp and the lab of Dr. Curt Connors (Ifans), a former colleague of his father's.
While Spider-Man is destined to face Connors' alter-ego Lizard, Peter is forced to make a crucial decision about how to use his powers that will change his life forever and define the nature of his path to heroism...
