Ripley (Sigourney Weaver) returns to Earth after 57 years of space travel, but the terror doesn't stop. No one really believes her story of her encounter with the Alien, yet Ripley agrees to escort a group of specially trained soldiers back to LV-246...and this time, war breaks out!

There's even an investigation to accuse her of destroying the creature that the high-ranking military brass wanted. Eventually she is freed, but is offered to take part in another expedition: in the meantime, a colony with human inhabitants has been established on the planet where the alien originated. They have now gone silent, and a mission consisting of marines is about to descend on the planet to investigate what happened there. Ripley, with her knowledge of the dangerous creature, would be a good fit.

She decides to put an end to her nightmares and unpleasant memories of the alien monster and accepts the offer. So once again she finds herself on an inhospitable planet where they find the colony abandoned. The only person they find is a little frightened girl. They soon discover that all the inhabitants have fallen victim to the alien - but not one. The aliens have multiplied somewhat and the planet is completely overrun by them...
