The Dark Case returns with a new cast and a new case set against the backdrop of the arid Californian landscape. A bizarre murder brings together three cops and criminals who must untangle themselves from a web of conspiracy and betrayal in their quest for truth and redemption.
Colin Farrell portrays the character of compromised detective Ray Velcoro from the fictional industrial town of Vinci near Los Angeles, who is also on opposite sides of the law. Vince Vaughn stars as career criminal Frank Semyon, who is in danger of losing the empire he has built when the unexpected murder of a business partner turns his plans for an honest business upside down.
When it comes to corrupt practices, Frank's closest ally is his morally ambivalent wife, former actress Jordan (Kelly Reilly). Rachel McAdams plays the uncompromising Sheriff Ani Bezzerides, whose forceful nature and unconventional ethics often pits her against the system. Also in the cast is Paul Woodrugh, a war veteran and California Highway Patrol officer with a troubled past, played by Taylor Kitsch.
