Billy (Vince Vaughn) and Nick (Owen Wilson) are salesmen whose careers have been sunk by today's over-technicalised digital world. In an attempt to prove they are not old hat, they manage the near impossible: a coveted internship at Google. The problem arises when they discover they are not alone. Among the other job applicants is a whole bunch of brilliant university students, technically gifted geniuses. So now they're about to face off against the nation's elite. In a company where the secret of success is not based on the search, but on the search. Google is the place where dreams become reality...
Billy and Nick are friends who have spent half their lives perfecting their sales tricks. They elevated their work to an artistic discipline, yet they ended up on the pavement. They are both products of a generation that believed in the American Dream, that is, if you work hard and follow the rules, you'll never miss. The reality is quite different. At Google they start from scratch as Interns (at Googlespeak as Nooglers). Surrounded by people half their age and talent, they must find a way to break the generational barrier. Otherwise, they would miss out on the opportunity to be promoted from Noogler to Googler (i.e. full-time Google employee). Now these "dinosaurs" of yesteryear can show off and show everyone a great stock of clever sales tricks!
