Year 1194. Robin of Locksley escapes from Moorish captivity in Jerusalem and returns to England. In Nottingham he learns that his father has been killed because he refused to join the Sheriff of Nottingham's campaign against King Richard. Robin and his friend Azeem find refuge in Sherwood Forest, which is controlled by outlaws led by Little John and Will Scarlett. Robin becomes the leader of the band, which grows daily with fugitives from the sheriff's cruelty. The thrilling storyline of the audience favourite is enhanced by some 20 minutes of previously unreleased footage - mainly, therefore, the evil deeds and sinister origins of Hood's arch-enemy, the Sheriff of Nottingham (Alan Rickman).
