Thorn, an American politician, adopts a young boy under very strange circumstances. His name is Damien and mysterious things are happening around him.
On one of his visits to the zoo, the animals go into an unexplained fit of aggression, and fatal accidents in the vicinity of the Thorn family multiply - each time involving little Damien. Thorn begins to realise this, and in desperation seeks out a priest who explains the cause - his adopted son is an incarnation of Satan himself...
This evocative horror film is directed by Richard Donner, based on the novel by David Seltzer. The film was also a huge success thanks to the excellent score composed by the phenomenal composer Jerry Goldsmith, for which he was rightly awarded the prestigious Oscar (not very rightly the only one in his long career).
