It's the first time we've been able to stop them. But what the alien Kaiju creatures did to Earth in the first installment of the action sci-fi Pacific Rim was just a prelude to what they have in store for humanity now. Star Wars star John Boyega and Fast and Furious' Scott Eastwood lead a team that is the planet's last hope for survival. The members of this team are pilots controlling Jaegers, giant robots that are capable of rivaling the equally equipped Kaiju in size and equipment. Jake Pentecost (John Boyega) was one of them for a long time, only to abandon his talents and the legacy of his father, who sacrificed his own life in the fight against the Kaiju. He prefers to survive underground, earning his living through all sorts of activities on the edge of the law. On one such mission, he stumbles upon fifteen-year-old Amara, who has managed to steal and dismantle a Jaeger originally intended for destruction. Before these two can get to know each other properly, the Law is on their heels. To escape punishment, they join a training program for new Jaeger pilots. Jake alongside his former partner Lambert (Scott Eastwood) as an instructor and Amara as a budding pilot. They all hope they never have to test their training skills in a real war. But it's coming. Sooner than anyone wanted, and from a direction no one expected...
