Despite his young age, Jack Ryan has done quite a bit. A serious wound from the war in Afghanistan, which has left him almost permanently crippled, a difficult period in his recovery, a PhD in economics and, most importantly, a job as an economic analyst at the CIA, which he has successfully kept hidden from his friends and even his fiancée (Keira Knightley).
The moment he intercepts an unusual operation by a Russian financial giant, he is sent by his commanding officer (Kevin Costner) to Moscow to find out on the spot what's going on.
Jack is forced to quickly transform himself from economic analyst to cold-blooded killing machine in order to save his fiancée, who suddenly finds herself in danger, and stop an impending attack by terrorists who have targeted the US economy...
