Josef Douša is a railway guard who one day saves a young man from jumping under a train. However, after the incident, the rescued man falls in love with Douša's wife. On top of that, the guard Douša loses his hearing for a while.
Although his hearing returns after some time, Douša continues to feign deafness in order to find out what people are saying about him and his wife's suspected relationship with Ferd behind his back.
The great human story also appealed to the experienced and talented director Filip Renč, who got his hands on Eduard Verner's script a few years ago. The directorial script by Filip Renč and Zdeněk Zelenka underlines the drama of the subject and strengthens and presumes the personal ties of all the characters...
